The Good Roads educational display shows historic photos from the Wisconsin Historical Society and the Taylor County Highway Commission depicting early road building equipment. Funding came from the Commonwealth Cultural Resources Group, Inc. and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Before the Good Roads Movement, most roads in Wisconsin were dirt tracks and potholes. Urban cycling enthusiasts and the Wisconsin League for Good Roads lobbied the Wisconsin State Government to build roads throughout Wisconsin. This educational sign was funded by the Commonwealth Cultural Resources Group, Inc., and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
